One for the breeders on here, how would you breed this tribrid,
could you naturally pair a gyr/pere with a saker or is it done by AI only?

Richard,
Before it was 1 year old my male gyr/pere was put in with a female gyr saker
and 2 young were produced that year.It was then flown for 2 seasons and now breeds naturally with a female gyr.

Neil,
how did the young turn out?
Ability, temperament and did they look the same or both different?

Both turned into decent crow hawks but were electrocuted within a fortnight of each other. One was a stunning white bird and the other a very drab brown.
Both were males flying around the 2lb mark.

Hi hacker , its tiercel peregrine into gyr, saker , i have flown 2 they are real guttsy falcons they have the speed and temperament of the peregrine, and the guts of both gyr,and saker , i have flown lots of rook gull hawks over the years and in my opinion its one if the best , she had 43 gulls this season and over 2 seasons killed 111 head of quarry , last season was a non starter had a slipped disk operation couldnt walk let alone hawk , i am surprised more arent flown , i intend trying to breed them this year, i also flew agyr, saker, peregrine , she was very good as well the only downside of this cross is they tend to be bigger , mine flew at 2, 7, , i like a falcon flying around the 2 pound mark , they can be to big, this is the falcon i lost recently, cheers , mark.

There are a few of this hybrid bred Mel (flintstone falcons) produces this hybrid gyrxpere / saker. The females he produced this season looked very peregrine like in shape.

Hi neil , i have been thinking about this cross , they sound like they could be very good gull /crow hawks , what was the temperament like in general , were they quick , i saw some pictures on the forum recently 2 pictures you may have seen them , one looked like a gyr, peregrine the other looked like a gyr, saker, the other option would be to try to obtain gyr, peregrine semen, i would like at some time to try it into my prairie, i have a female that hopefully will lay next year , i will try to do peregrine prairie , these are a favorite of mine i flew a falcon for 5 seasons at cheers , mark. gulls and crows,
