Can any one in Canada / America give me any information on the above gentleman who died in the not too distant past.
I was putting my eagles through their fitness regime today when I was approached by a lady who showed a genuine interest in what I was doing and who knew what she was talking about ,in as much as her questions were very sensible, particularly compared to the usual.
Anyway, after 5 minutes chatting she stated her uncle , John Campbell, was an avid peregrine enthusiast and had a keen interest and involvement in the recovery of the peregrine.Although he lived in Canada his ancestry was in Scotland. The lady, who was born and raised in Canada, has recently moved to Scotland and stated Mr Campbell died in the last 18 months or so.
Purely from an interest point of view, any information about this man would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Neil.

That is one good book! A very eclectic and, at times, edge-of-your-seat read. We're very fortunate in America that conservation and falconry can be so closely linked.

I have meet his son John Cambell Jr at a couple of canadian meets. At the last canadian meet, 2 years ago helped him break back into his car, seemed like a decent bloke.

I knew him quite well, met him during numerous visits to Canada, great guy, great falconer in his day, even in his old age he could out run some of the younger guys when getting to his bird before the eagles. A sad loss! he died from the big C.

Hi Neil,
I'd lend it to you if I had it, but I shamelessly borrowed from a friend while in America. But, I did bring back a few unique/rare books on goldens from NAFA, which you should take a look at sometime :)

Hi Jakki,
I have seen it, its quite good; real professional filming with very exciting off-the-fist flights.
I've not brought my copy to Scotland, but Western Sporting and Northwoods sell it for $24.95. I'm not sure what is the best way for someone in the UK to order it...?
I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful,

Actually, I've had this problem as well. My laptop is set on Region 2, but I can watch House of Grouse from America on it. Turns out the disc is a DVD-R, and is region-free. According to Northwoods, Eagle Journal should be the same. :)
