Then put your foot down in an emergency!!
I know where youre coming from, he's the other side of town, but in an emergency you want an avian vet not a donkey knackerman or some rabbit vet that calls your bird "a parroty thing"

Or a vet that you can trust thats only a phone call away from an avian vet.

Touching wood never works.....just make sure you are 100% prepared all the time, Cos what can go wrong will go wrong if you are not

You dont need to mate, Harrogate may seem far but your bird will get the correct care first time, could make all the difference :-)

You are better travelling that extra distance to get your bird seen by someone who knows what they are doing and get the correct treatment started immediately than seeing someone a bit closer who faffs around and delays the correct treatment or even worse, guesses and starts the wrong treatment! NHB is one of the best

For what it's worth, if it means going a bit of a distance, along good roads that are not prowled by bandits at night, to a visit a veterinarian who is less than a domestic flight away, a published expert in his field, well, that just sounds like manna from heaven.

For those near Sheffield

Have seen two of my hawks on the emergency system when the well known avian specialists in Yorkshire couldnt see them for days.

Make sure you get the right Park Vets the others a fair distance away

Also springfield vets in Moorgate near Rotherham They have a vet by the name of William who is a good avian vet. Hes very keen to deal with Bop, and hes bred and raised Parrots since he was a child. He dealt with a nasty cut on the leg of our f gos, he operated on this and the cut has healed beautifully, I would recommend him to anyone.

I use Ashlands Vet at Ilkley and they also have surgery at Glusburn. Four years ago having just moved to this area from West Wales my HH broke its leg and I made for the nearest vet expecting a humane put down. Andy Macgregor the head vet sought advice from other expert vets and operated there and then result is my HH alive and full use of the limb, he,s also performed emergency surgery on my Deerhound at 3am for Torsion can,t praise the guy enough. Also worth noting the surgery has its own lab so immediate results and no long waits etc. Hope that helps.:D

You will want more than a vet when ive finished with your ass:butthead:it will take a top harley street surgeon and a team of nassa scientists to engineer you a new ass hole in the middle of your back to **** out of:shock::heart:

What was the point of your quote!!!!! I know only too well how worrying it is to find a decent vet within the area who is competant enough to entrust with my animals. I rely and always have on feedback from other people and then make my own judgement. Surely if you have BOP it is responsible ownership to do your homework as far as nearest competant vet is concerned.I doubt wether your comments have assisted anyone on this thread!!
