Got a call from a good friend falconer wanting a Dutch hood this will be his third from me, he loses them and asked if it could remedied..SO..............

Introducing New from Falconry Hoods International...
The "Never Lose me braces".
These may or may not be for everyone but hunting in a wooded lot or cultivated farm land this feature will certainly make your hood very VISIBLE.. The picture does not do the braces justice..
Am putting tham on my Redtail/harris hawk hood this afternoon.

the would probably work, but i think it ruins the look of a very smart looking hood..but i suppose if it works and helps some one find it when droped it will serve its purpose.
as the old saying goes looks ant every thing.lol

i really dont like gortex or anything other than leather braces, but why dont you (seriously) do a hood in a bright flourecent colour? just for the field?

Hey the customer wanted that color and style of hood and something added so that he will not lose the hood..I thought of a transmitter but too much$$$. He hunts in deep brush and although I like him losing hoods enough was enough, so I ordered this very brilliant lime green. sewed them up and tried it on the hood.
Yes it takes away from the hood but to be honest when it is in your hand it isn't that bad..
I am sewing up several sets of braces and will put a set in my El Diablo hood that I am using on my hybrid hawk, it is a sold black hood and am betting it will look OK. I too will be hunting her in deep cover,,
I prefer leather braces but boy you cannot beat the durability of gortex, nylon, or the material I use for braces..

Hey Chris, not a fan of hood holsters, certainly not false economy, I bought one from Julian when he was here in Canada it is well made no complaints, just prefer a saddle blanket pin, just old fashion.. I have a "used" Clayton Smith holster but it is a keepsake..
Chris there are many picture of hoods on my falcons on my web site in the gallery section.
Tell you what, I will sew up a few sets of the "never lose me braces" and I will put a pair in the El Diablo Hood I am using on the hawk hybrid and snap some pics..

Good idea i tend to lose hoods when im in a rush to get them out of my pocket, but like barbary boy said why not make a florescent hood. It maight not look like classy or attractive but i would rather be able to find a hood when lost than not.

In the works, actually I have ordered some material that actually "glows". I don't believe it but we shall see..That is exactly what the falconer wanted a florescent hood..

this is what i find? once people get over the fact they look a bit garish! they find they make sense in the field? why not field jesses etc as well? but on the subject of "other" materials, nothing will convert me from leather braces on hoods, anything else seems to catch a talon to easily when a bird scratches?

Barbary Boy, yes it does take awhile for a new idea,, as for gortex, nylon braces, have never had a problem yet,,,Fingers crossed,, I do like leather..
Chris here is a picture of my hybrid hawk in a glued El Diablo with the just installed "never lose me" braces.
Let me describe the picture.. She was out in the weathering yard and we got this freak rain storm in amongst a snowy mild temperature type day.. I brought her in, sprayed her as she needed a bath and put her in a giant hood to dry ,, that is what you are seeing in the background..
The braces CERTAINLY STAND OUT!!
