Nick Fox said something along the lines of seven days. There was a temperature not to exceed as well but it escapes me.

If eggs were pulled you might want to store them?

Why not do eggs not get pulled?:( What other reason is there unless I was being stupid and you mean unfertile eggs?

A friend of mine used to pull the first clutch of HH and put them under a buzzard...he would store them for a few days in a cool area untill the clutch was made up then all put under the buzzard together

:D
youve lost me.... I aint got around to thinking about egg pulling ......YET...
I am building a incubator / brooder / shed out of concrete block ... and I was wondering (I do a lot of that) seeing as I have plenty of space should I allocate a cupboard /// area for storing fertile eggs ... then I got to thinking hmmmm whats the optimal temp length of time etc .... then I couldnt find any referance to it in books ... so I came here to this wealth of knowledge
I like to seek and store knowledge ... but I dont want to pull or store eggs Yet ! all my current birds of age are natrual pairs

I heard you can go up to 7 days to store the eggs. So that would mean only 2 eggs.
Storage I was told simply a cool place and turn them each day I figured using a Octagon 20 without the incubator part swithed on.

Jez when I have to store eggs after pulling from the Imprints I place them in an ordinary egg box using a short length of 2x2 to stand one end on 4 times a day I reverse the end of the box that is on the 2x2. I keep the eggs in a cupboard that is dark and cool, I have never bothered to see what the temperature is in there. I normally do this only when I have to and then set the eggs under a bird again a falcon or Hawk depending on the eggs origin. I also set eggs under broody bantams but only for the first 10 days then they go into the incubator the same goes for the Hawk and falcons never more than 10 days unless I trust them enough to hatch and rear their young. Maximum storeage time is 5 days any more than this and you will loose a % of fertility.
I hope this is the answer you were looking for M8
