Hi brought one new in 2004 very good motor good on diesel, powerful, tow well too. The only faults i found were there was not a lot off leg room in the back for passengers and it ould have done with a bit more full lock on the steering. But all in all a good 4x4. regards ivan.

Had an 04 a couple of years ago, only one fault, not that great in the wet in 2 wheel drive, rear end drifts a little, but go anywhere in 4WD and good on fuel. Some engines are rather noisey. All in all a good motor but prefered the x trail.

Just spoke to my brother Hound and he says the older ones are alot better than the news one's.
He knows this because he works at Humprise in rose hill where they use to sell, and still service nissans.
Hes a technition.

He's say there excellantly built strong pick-ups

If it's a diesel the engine will run forever...it's still pretty much the same as they stick in Black Cabs....200,000 no probs!!

Interesting Michael - I presently have an X-Trail (2.2 dCI) and am thinking of chopping it in for a Navara, though have yet to take one for a drive. I would find it helpful if you would share why you preferred the X-Trail. Thanks.

Don't know if you got that over there but the Nissan "D22 pick up" A.K.A "Frontier 4x4 turbo diesel" is an exelent choice for a pick up truck.

EnjoyIt

The new one is different class, 6 speed for better fuel consumption plus a completely better drive at long distance.
