View Full Version : AI Hat not quite turning him on !!??
Having trouble with one of my Peregrine donors. He started donating 3 yrs ago but his donations are not as regular and smaller samples than my other tiercel...?
I put a mirror in the aviary to watch him and he seems to be looking for something to grip on the hat with his beak. I assume he needs a leather tab to bite so he can stabalise himself before shuddering onto the hat......?
Anyone had or having similar problems ??? Ideas would be gratefully received !!
cheers,
Andy

AS BB said lets see a Pic of the Hat M8 as we can't access the problem blind.
I have never had that problem with any of my Hat Birds.

im no longer into imprints but my ai hat is a tank drivers leather helmet liner and has thick ridges on it, i covered it in clear silicone with a rim of pipe insulation around it? and it gave birds a good firm base to shag on with plenty of scope for catching semen?

Will do BB, Weve got a new digi camera and have nt quite mastered downloading pics...I ll have a crack tommorrow...

Andy

Is there enough traction on the hat for the bird to feel secure? Just a thought.

its a bit like shagging on silk sheets? they look good but are a bit slippery? neoprene is better? same with an imprint hat! gotta look good but needs to be able to do the do?

My other tiercel is regular with good samples so he has no probs.....but you may of hit the nail on the head there, the tiercel in question flutters onto my shoulder on and off before trying to grip hat !??

Sorry I have nt come back with photos on this folks, Im sure it would be easier to land a hercules helicopter than download photos from our new cybershot digi camera!!!
Both my tiercels donated well today, Ive added extra silicone channels to my hat and definately helps grip wise, he dont seem to be slipping onto my shoulders half as much !:supz
cheers,
Andy
