Finaly after alot of work from steve (flying high), our 11month old goldie is comin along nicely. very nicely! started creance work not long ago, and now with some good progress! i thought i'd take some pics to show you guys seein as i did in november when we receeved her, seems ages ago now! she is very soft, and the bond of trust is very strong now! she's weighing in at about 11lb, just over i think! we are finding it very difficult to find eagle scales at the mo, balance preferably, would be nice if anyone could help on that point. lucky we dont need to control her weight to much just yet, but acurousy will be needed when she starts flying free, so please help!lol

i think it depends on her demo performance! her confidence round the public, etc. hopefully she wont like them so we can use the steppes for demos and hunt her!lol

Search "postal scales" on Ebay. You will get a seller Doctorcamel who sells them. They weigh up to 25 kilos. They are easily adapted and are the dogs ********.They come in at around £40 including postage and work on battery and mains supply. I bought 4 sets for me and the people I fly eagles with and they are second to none. They weigh in grams, ounces, lbs and ounces and kilos.
Eagle looking good by the way,
Regards,
Neil

Has your boss improved his current equipment that he keeps his birds on yet :?:

Outstanding ! I would suggest baby weight scales. The older ones are great and weight up to 30 lbs. The have changeable weights and weigh in increment's of 1/4 to 1/2 OZ . You can take the top off and modify it with a T perch. Take care. Philip in Virginia

what do you mean? the equipment doesn't need improving. i'm actually quite proud that money gets put in to the birds equipment so that its presentable and safe! for instance, instead of hammering a staple into a log, stickin abit of astroturf on it then tieing a bold eagle to it. (which is a sick discrace to be put infront of the public) we've spent nigh on £300 on a custom made cromed bow perch for our goldie!
instead of having blocks that are 20 years old and never seen a shread of care, to the extent employees are bashin them in the ground with hammers, that have huge great splits in them so when the bird baits its jesses get court in them and is left hanging upside down unsupervised! we by brand new blocks and bow perches that get scrubed every morning and well maintained! i've been to a centre that has had these discracfull things in, to the word, yet it is a well respected centre, unfortunately we try bloody hard to do things right, and noone notices!lol oh well! so no we have not improved on our current equipment, dont need too!

Wouldn't pay too much attention to somebody who puts naf all on their user profile. The Eagle looks in great condition and is obviously coming along fine:supz:
His user name may not be coincidental

hi wight wings. no unfortunately he is not working at robin hill park with me at this monet in time but i am looking to take him back on bored very soon. the park is doing very good and we are pulling crowds of people to the birds that are some of the biggest seen on the island. And to the bloke that put about the equipment. i am sure if Stuart new who you where talking about he would agree with you but he was talking about me and i have paid for the best for my bird (crowned falconry, falcon fabrications and falconry electronic to name a few) i am sure Stuart will keep you up to date on what i am doing lol

Well maybe you should use a bit of caution next time.
As you can see there is a issue here and i am not being a critic without reason.
eagles on bare rusty metal perches do it for you?

sorry for having a go! its just that we have had alot of flack from the OTHER falconry ''forum'' and it really annoyed me! yes, appulausvitz, to the best of my knowledge still has horrendous equipment. altho i cant say i've been there in a while!lol i'm hoping to get someone up there with a video camera and film their wonderous day out. we've all tried our hardest to close the place down though legal stuff, but we all know how much help that is these days. so flying high with as much help as i can give and others are doing it the hard way, and as it turns out, the fun way! we are taking his buisness, even the people walkin through his door!lol and i cant wait to get back on the frontline!

Didn't see any on the photographs on this thread, perhaps if you elaborate when you post some of us have not a clue what you are talking about
It would also appear that you do not have your facts right. So perhaps it is you that should excercise caution Chuffpiece
