Here are a couple of owls i mounted this week, I would value members oppinions of them especially the owl keepers. Tried a different pose on the eagle owl instead of the normal upright stance.
Think i have sussed how to attach pictures :supz:

I think the stance on the eagle owl is looking as though he is puffing up at something but although his body is beginning to puff his head feathers haven't puffed, maybe that's why he isn't looking quite right?
any other observations people?
brilliant work all the same.

brill! the only thing i can spot is the EO - if he's hooting (what a imprint looks like) his eyes need to look bigger - more rounded. They always look constipated when they hoot - or the ones i've seen anyway! If he isnt hooting ignor this bit lol.
Brill work - how long have you been doing taxidermy?

Thanks for all your comments they are much apreciated. the eagle owl is not yet dry so i still have time to adjust the eyes and will do that tomorrow.
Hanna, i started as a hobby about 16 years ago when i joined the guild of taxidermists,i took redundancy from british steel in 1999 and have been full time since then.

Stokey,
nice to se someone asking for critisism rather than just presuming their gear is great.
I come from down the road so will pop in and see your stand at the festival and have a chat.
Lets see more of your taxidermy, i am always fascinated by it.

I agree. The tufts on the head should also be up since the rest of the body feathers are puffed up. And the eyes do look a little small..
The little owl looks superb, though. Excellent work :supz:
