If you look towards the top left of your screen you will see "User CP".Click on that and it will show the last 10 items of rep and any comments made by those who have given it. If it has a green square next to it ,it is positive.Red is negative and grey is neutral.

They are only a guide to how good the stuff you post on the forum is, and should not be taken too seriously . If someone likes what you say on a particular post they can give you rep by clicking on the scales at the top right of that post and adding a comment if they wish.

I don't know why they are called rep points as when you click on the scales it is too say that you either approve or disapprove of what6 that person said at that particular time.
