we all know TLC4's are a good idea in principle and for the time being there's nothing else like them available on the market, however as has been discussed previously on here there temperature control and reliability leaves alot to be desired.
We are offering an upgrade on units which would involve removing the existing thermostat and display and re-fitting with a digital P.I.D. set and display thermostat 'which is calibratable! just call up the temperature and it brings it straight there and holds it there, and alot more reliable.
Upgrade - £135.00
Pre-upgraded machine - £385.00

Sounds good Tony. But do you get a certificate with this new thermometer mate.

Its not just a thermometer m8 its a whole new temperature control, and yes we calibrate them to a lab thermometer and issue a certificate.

Hello David,
We place the pt100 probe through a gland in the top of the brooder unit. The controler is then calibrated at chick level. There is an auto-tune feature on the controlers which we use to give 0.1 - 0.2 stability and control.

Can you set on aoffset on teh controler so the the probe is reading say 35 at it's level high up, shows 32 and at chick level it is 32.
The problem I have with the TLC4s is that the reading on the control is so far out from what it is at chick level that it is not worth looking and Iand I just use a ther mmeter at cheick level to get my readings at the moment
