View Full Version : Vacancy at Kentish Falconry
Kentish Falconry
13-05-2007, 10:14 AM
We are currently looking for another Falconer to work with us at Kentish Falconry.
Guardain12 Keith suddenly had to return to Ireland due to family health problems, he has now been gone for over a week with no word although he did send a PM to Ned saying he was at the Airport awaiting a flight and had lost my Telephone number.
The job will be General Falconer and will entail Cleaning Pens, Feeding, driving the Lawn Mower and training birds (Imprints for now) Later there will be training & Manning birds going for Export and training their own Hunting Bird for this year. We live in an area that has a large amount of Quarry of all types so the hunting here is good (Refer to Simon's Hunting stories) and Wez RedNosedK9 & Lee Finnish were also regular visitors here just for the Hunting, although I suspect Lee preferred the evenings when the Stella was flowing.
If you are interested in caring for some top quality Falcons & Hawks and some Eagle work then please contact me my numbers are on the Website or you can send a PM in the first instance

We are really looking for someone with some experience of Falcons as we do not have the time available to train someone from scratch.
I forgot to mention that there will be the possibility of trips to the Middle East accompanying shipments of birds and a few days hunting in the Desert with the Arabs and learning their ways of training and hunting

when I started my jo I had not that much experience with longwings, ut Mark and Sara got me sorted within a view weeks. best thing to train someone from scratch but it just takes so much time and effort. good luck with finding someone.

Thanks Moritz, the problem here at the moment is we will be hacking birds in a few weeks time as well as using the Hack Pen. Ned my assistant is a Hawk Man and he needs to learn the ways of a falcon so if I take on someone else to help me I can't afford to have a totally inexperienced falconer or I am going to be training 2 people at the same time and then the work won't get done and the whole season could be a waste of time.
You have been around Falcons with Mark & Sara so I am sure you know what I mean, how long did it take you to get to the stage you are at now? and still little accidents happen no matter how careful you are and I just can't be everywhere at the same time.

terry theire was a young lad with some experiance asking for work on here last week or two, but i can't remember he's user name.
