Sky Trials

Hi Guys,

Could anyone tell me if you have to be invited to the Utah Sky Trials, or if you can just kick along. Missed it this year, but want to sort it for 2008!

I haven't been in a few years (being out of the country makes it difficult) but used to go every year and no one ever had to be invited. Just show up and enjoy the show.

By the late '80s, they afforded an unequaled opportunity to watch spectacular stoops by around 30 first-rate game falcons. This year, fewer than 100 people showed up to watch ten falcons fly, and maybe half of those birds were worth going out of one's way for. It appears to me that the popular wave of hawking I witnessed 15 years ago was the apex of a curve. *END SNIP*

But by all means, GO! I'm making it a point to go next year and take some of my Japanese buddies. If no one goes then it will just die out.

Both me and my son (Goshawker 20) attended this year and the people were fantastic, the flying to be fair was ok but not great, with very few Praries being flown, If you wish to tag along next year you would be welcome.
I get great deals with airlines and hotels over there. Hope to hear of you!

Thanks for the offer. I'm trying to perswade one of my buddies to come with me as well, but I'm not sure what his commitments for that time of year are like.

I went to the meet in 2005 to Utah and watch the sky trials and saw some great flying in a fantastic location if you go onto the Nafa Web site you can see some pictures from the 2005 meeting.
If you are a member you get an invite anyway so support another club and get over.
The people are fantastic and welcome you with open arms and are more than willing to have you tag along.:lol:

I'm up for going over, I was supposed to go this year but my mate who I was going with was hospitalised and had to cancel so I 'blew it out' too.

I know some of the boys from Bristol go every year.

All you need to attend the sky trials, are the directions to it and a few dollars to be let into the parking area. They still don't have a date posted for this year but it should be on the web-site somtime in December http://www.ebiz.netopia.com/utahskytrials
