Eagle meet in Opocno

The social aspect is tremendous, beer for breakfast anyone!! :rolleyes:

The off-the-fist eagle and gos hawking with 8 eagles and 4 Goshawks spread out across a field in amongst around 80 spectators was....well, different!! :lol:

It is well worth the trip, just maybe not every year. it has become too busy with spectators these days I fear, although the year I was there was probably busier due to Czech hosting the IFF meet.

Wouldn't bet on it Pete. The 30th wasn't any better than the 29th:lol:
To be quite honest, i think it is going downhill a little. Not in numbers of people as that is on the increase, but in terms of true quallity. Like falconry everywhere, it is becoming more popular but with that brings more and more people that see it as a hobby and bit of fun to turn up with a bird for a few days hunting. My main interest at opocno was the Eagles but sorry to say that in latter years more birds were lacking in fitness and failed to cut the mustard IMO.
