Here is my new crow falcon. She is a gyr/peregrine X gyr/saker cross bred by Pete Kent.
Very wild (I like this!!), I collected her yesterday afternoon. I only succeed to weight her tonight because she didn't sit on the fist or on the scale perch and bated at any noise ( hooded )till tonight.
1130g tonight should be around 1200g when collected.
First pic, with parents (she is on the back left)...

Don't know how I got the weight wrong, I went on an internet site for conversions and tapped in 1,200 grams, it came out as three point something lbs, nevermind.

divide the grams by 28.35 and you'll have the weight in ounces.
Or even simpler, type in the Goggle search box "1200 grams in ounces" and hit enter - the return will tell the answer. 42.25 oz ish then convert into pounds and ounces 2- 10 1/4
A lot of sites convert metric into imperial BUT not true imperial, the result is a metric pound i.e 2.6 lbs but this isn't 2lb 6 oz. 2.6 lb = 2lb 10 oz

Just some updates....
First she now have a name ..... CHEYENNE .......
I and she had a very hard first week, she is so proud and was so wild that I manned her like a real wild falcon. Handled her night and day to tired her ( me as well!!!).
She starts feeding on the fist (very very few) two days ago (after 6 days) but she still doesn't eat more than few tidbits from the fist. Tomorrow I will let her alone in a quiet place and let her have a full crop. i will lose some time in her weight reduction but health is the priority.
Today was a new step, the first day un hooded in the garden, few bating and for the first time she goes by herself on the glove after bating....
Here are few pictures....
Cheers,
Youcef

I used to make lures like that out of old car tyre innertubes. They are easy to clean and last years.

Thank you all...
Steve, I bought the lure few years ago at northwood. It is very nice but made of a slipping leather that I don't like because falcons have difficulties to grip it. I had one better in latex that I lost.
I am currently making one in suede leather with real crow wing... Will post some pics when finish...
Cheers,
Youcef

Just some updates...
Cheyenne was very obedient today and think that she will fly free tomorrow. I just lose some days because I increase her weight during her antibiotic treatment.

Bad weather, windy and rainy day. Before flying free, one test on the creance. She anticipate and follow me before the lure outside so i decided to let her FLY.
She circled about 5 minutes around me and I called her before she land. She came immediatly. Serious things can start now!!!!!
