In which county have you seen the best gamehawking and why do you think this is so?
I would say it has been in Norfolk due the the flat land and ease of quarry flushes that were near perfect.

I would have to agree with lincolnshire as well. But if you really wan't to test yourself and your bird it has to be scotland.

But ease of finding game and countryside make it easier to be able to achieve a better bird to take on the challenges of Scotland.
Come to Devon and do it here, it is stupidly difficult to get everything right.:(

True but there are factors that make that place and surely some areas of the country see better gamehawks than others on a more constant basis.
Now once a bird has become a good gamehawk then you can go almost anywhere and the bird shuld be fine!

A very broad question.
Its entirely subjective as to what you want to see out of your hawk and what quarry you generally fly.
I think if you counted up all the decent gamehawks that are around and where they are mostly flown you would probably find a nice spread from nearly every corner/county of the UK. I don't think you'll see a concentration anywhere.
For me its my home county of Cumbria. We have the set ups and the scenery, its peaceful and there isn't much check. I don't have to drive far through urban sprawl to get a slip. Here heavy traffic is getting stuck behind a tractor. There is lots of duck, snipe, pheasants, a few wild partridge and grouse. For any one of these quarries you could find a county in the UK with more of them, better set - ups but taken as a whole I think im lucky and the best gamehawking Ive seen has been here amongst friends.
Ive a soft spot for Caithness as a grouse venue. As regards the quality of the set up Ive seen nowhere that comes close, or I should say its just what I prefer.
