I have been approached by an anonymous falconer that would like to offer £100 to the lucky person that guesses the correct Latin names of both parents of the 2 day old bird pictured below.

To enter your suggested names you must submit it by Buying a ticket and paying £1 by Paypal, here is a button link:
https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/x-click-but23.gif (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=Hawkmaster%40eclipse%2eco%2euk&item_name=CFF%20%26%20IFF%20Photo%20Competition%20 0707&amount=1%2e00&no_shipping=0&no_note=1&currency_code=GBP&lc=GB&bn=PP%2dBuyNowBF&charset=UTF%2d8)

Each week the names will be checked on a Friday night and if there are more than one correct entrants, those folks names will go into a hat and a draw will be made.

All funds raised will be awards to the Campaign for Falconry on behalf of this person and the IFF members!

You are permitted to guess as many times as you like via Paypal and each week I will add more photo clues if it is not guessed correctly!

Can we take it that this is a hybrid then as you are looking for both latin names? If it were pure one would do. Have I got the wrong end of the stick again?

Hawkmaster
08-08-2007, 10:04 AM
Even I have no idea but as the guesses come through I post them to the UNKNOW person that is putting up the prize money!:D

Hawkmaster

Here is your answerI did see the question relating to the 'it must be a hybrid as 2 parent names need to be given' Not necassarily, it was worded that way so as not to favour pure bred or hybrid. It could be a tribrid or quarterbrid or purebrid!!!!!

Here are the last photographs that will be put up of the bird and quite frankly I am surprised at the lack of entries we have had.

So far some brave souls have given it a go and nobody has it correct.

We will leave the competition open for ONE more week, so get in quick and let us know what you think the answers are?:supz:

At least a Goldie x OHE makes more sense than a Steppe x OHE.
I was wondering if some one had taken a leaf out of the mad professor from South Park's book and created a Steppe x Ornate on the way to a 5 assed eagle monkey!!
Now, the question is how does it fly and hunt?

Lenka
18-10-2007, 05:24 AM
I thought so!!! I thought so!!!
What a beautiful beautiful creature:) I am curious what is the wingspan, flying weight and if it is for sale:heart: or at least if the owner is breeding them for sale

Hawkmaster
23-10-2007, 12:14 PM

Hi All
for those who are enquiring someone called Chris (Quiver) submitted the correct answer first which was Golden eagle X Ornate hawk eagle.

hi paul, unknown has already done it lol, it was banwell that put me onto it by saying it was a ornate x steppe, but with steppe eagles the gap on the birds go to the back of the eye and not in the middle, so thats why i chose goldie good guess i suppose.
