last week i was in a conversation with a guy who made comment of the bald eagle being extinct, i told him it wasnt, last night a second person told me that they were extinct, after quite a debate he refused to believe they werent, now i don't know a great deal about them but i read somewhere that they have now been removed from the endangered list which obviously means they're still about and doing well, can anyone throw light on to why these people were so adament that the birds were infact extinct, has there been a certain species wiped out? or maybe in the past theire numbers were so dangerously low that they may have mistakenly believed that they were correct? it just seemed odd that both these guys were so adament, theyre inteligent guys generaly.

They are almost as common as Sparrowhawks in parts of america and Canada. Saw dozens on my last trip.
