how the hell do you guys take the young eagles from the breeding pens and stay alive . i have no eagle experiance but a littel in catching other eyas bop .

if a pair of lanners will attack you to difend there young and the eyas its self will go into defensive attack on your entry and then capture /handling , then what the hell do eagles do ?

i imagine night time raids with high power lamps to dazzle the birds or a pair off sas men doning full motorbike leathers and full face crash helmets .
ok may be over active imagineation there lol:lol:

seriously how do you normal do this dirty deed ?

It's best to have a few people who know what they are doing and each person catches a bird, whether it be a parent or a juvenile. It depends on the birds but almost certainly the female will try and take your head off, so she is normally caught first, then if the male has a go, someone can catch him (its easy to catch a bird that is flying straight for your head  ), whoever is left deals with taking out the young. It's not worth going in and leaving the adults to try and take chunks out of you as they are also likely to injure themselves or the juveniles at the same time. I wouldn't fancy doing it on my own thats for sure!

so you have to remove all the young in one go then ? i would imagine the strrss of catching every bird each time you want a younster to be to stressful and a worry

If you're quick enough jackie its a case of grab the parents when they grab you (if they go and sit in a corner quietly then no problem, leave them there!) and whoever is getting one of the young does it nice and quick. It's much less stressful and far less risky than having birds bounce off of dustbin lids crashing around all over the place, possible injuring themselves, the young and each other. Don't forget, with most large eagles you'd be very lucky to get more than a couple of youngsters anyway and yes removing both at the same time would also be a good option if space is available. Just common sense really.
