Heres a few pics of my Per/Sakers 1st kill. Slipped her at a mixed bunch of gulls and crows. I lost sight of her when she went in amongst them, so missed the flight and finale. Tracked her to the middle of a stubble field on her Carrion Crow.

Thats one of the nicest pere/sakers I have seen. Does the bird fly and kill differently to a 50/50?. eg does it lack fight on the floor compaired to a 50/50. I can see its got no probs as its sitting on a crow, just wondering if there is a slight difference.
Cheers Gary.

According to her A10, she was breed by P Sibson, not sure where he is as didnt get her until a few weeks ago.
She doesnt lack fight on the ground as far as im aware. There seemed to have been a good struggle, you can see some of the stubble kicked up in the pics.

Out today with the Per/Saker, looking for some rooks. She hasnt been putting in much of an effort until the last 2 days. She has had a couple of very near misses. Anyway, spotted some rooks out in a stubble. Got out the car, uhooded and slipped her over the hedge. Off she went and singled one out, it beat her into a wood. She went over the top down the other side and back over again and onto another rook, which she chased along the tops of the trees. Just then, one of those big brown things came out of the wood, and yeh, you guessed it, wham, she took it in mid air, tumbled down thru the trees. By the time id got across the stubble she had the upper hand, game over.
Not quite what i had planned but still, it shows she has what it takes.

Out this afternoon to try the Per/Saker after her excitment of the other day, and a trip to the vets. Slipped Stephens Gyr/Saker on some gulls first, watched her chase her gull till she was invisible to the naked eye. Tracked her down, maybe 3/4s a mile away on her gull. I think thats almost 40 shes had so far.
Then the Per/Sakers slip. Showed her some crows in a stubble field, just as i unhooded her, a passage crow went past and she took that on. It had a good start on her and she just missed it as it put into a little rough patch. Tried her at some other crows, and she had a right good go at the one she singled out, but again it made it to cover. Although she hasnt managed to kill one in a few days, im happy with her progress. Shes now putting in real effort in her attempts to nail one.

Out again for Crows today. The 1st two flights, she was beaten to trees again. Slipped her onto a flock in a stubble field. She picked her Crow and turned it a few times over our heads. It made for a roadside hedge and just beat her to it, but this time she went in after it and caught it in amongst the hedge roots. She seems to be getting the hang of this now. Heres some pics. We then went on to look for a slip on some Gulls for Stephens Gyr/Saker. Found some and slipped her at them from a 1/3 mile. As she powered towards them, the flock lifted, she rose above them, a couple of stoops and bound to one. Think thats Gull number 40 for her.

First Gull
Been flying my Per/Saker on Gulls the last couple of days, she has put in some right good flights. Today we went out and there were Gulls everywhere, must be the stormy weather thats around pushing them inshore. Found a large flock, and slipped her at them. She picked one out and got over it, put in a stoop but it jinked at the last minute. She pulled up and got right up behind it and bound to it about 20 feet up.
Here a couple of pics.

Hi Pete,
Yeh that was a close call, you almost had her
Shes came on leaps and bounds since her run in with the CB. Had a couple of crows, and then noticed that she was starting to single out gulls, so gave her a few slips on those in which she a 2 or 3 right under pressure. Then today, she got her first one. Hope theres plenty more to come. Could i give you a call sometime, as i have some issues with another bird that you maybe able to help me with.
Cheers

Went out today with Stephen. Slipped his Gyr/Saker on some gulls, will leave him to tell you about it on his thread.
Went looking for some more gulls for my Per/Saker. Eventually found some, and off she went. Disappeared out of sight over the brow of a hill. She had missed them, and on her way back she went over 2 CB's feeding on a dead goose. Put in a stoop and took one out. I ran over to where they were and as i was nearly there, it broke free and flew off.
Luckily there was no damage to the falcon. Found another slip and again, she went from view, but could see some crows wheeling about nearby, drove over and found her with her crow at the bottom of a hedge.

Wasnt out for long today. Found a slip quickly and she left the fist for some rooks in a field.
They beat her to a tree, but she harried one till it left its cover and made a bolt for it down a hedgerow, where she nailed it.

Out with Stephen and his Gyr/Saker (with new tail) today. He had second slip, and i will let him tell you all about it (would you like your chicken fried or grilled sir)?
Slipped my Per/Saker at some crows in a stubble field. They got above her and she came off and started to make her way back. She spotted some in a farmyard tho, and powered into them. The chase went round and above the buildings, where she hit her crow 3 times before catching it in the yard, much to the amusement of the cows looking out from the shed.
Sorry, no pics as the cam phone packed up.

Back out today, and found a field full of gulls and crows. Unhooded the Per/Saker and off she went. She picked out a gull but it started climbing, which she hasnt got the hang of yet, so she left it and picked out a rook. It was heading for a large dead tree right in the middle of the field, she came up below it and bound to it.
Some pics.
