A new arrival. Collected a female 50/50 Finnish German Gos last week. She is four years and six months old and been used for breeding for the last two years (very successfully to!). Now it's time to get her back hunting. She was 2 12oz but have got her down to 2 7oz and feeding on the fist, she was pretty wild on the first day of her manning, flew at me with both talons up! Better behaved now and coming a leash length.
This is my first Gos so happy to listen to any advice...

See the Harris hawk in the back ground! Go about the Gos in the same way.
The training should be the same as a Harris maybe a bit longeer as she has been layed up for a long time.
If the previous owner told you what weight he flew her take no notice and decide for yourself.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the feed back. She was hunted for two years before she bred, her hunting wieght was 2Ib 5oz. I've got a tail guard on now, I know would be a shame to lose thoughs perfect feathers! Her wieght does seem to jump up and down a bit, first frost last night so hopefully she should stablise.
Will put up some more pics later.

Hi guys,
Tail should be Ok as I've got a tail guard on now, a good hunting bird will have a smashed up tail at the end of the season if she's had a good time!!
Hi Paul. Enjoyed Sunday to, first of many I feel. I've got her down to 2-6oz today and she's very keen, so will be out tomorrow trying to get 20-30 yrds out of her before we try to get Nic's bird entered.

Hi mate,
We went out today with Nics bird, lots of nice bolts but she wasn't interested! Still needs to drop more wieght! She's starting a thread of her own today...

She's doing well and wieght is coming down. 20-25 yrds on the creance but has snatched and grabbed a couple of times so I guess the wieght needs to come down some more (2lb-4oz). Here's a couple of picss..
