Hello,
I want to show my Goshawk Lilly.
She's 4 years old and I hunt crows, rabbits, pheasants, ducks and wood-pigeons with her. But she at best if we hunt crows.
In autum and winter I hunt with her, and usual with a falcon. Since my little peregrine tiercel is dead I hunt crows with Lilly and with my new female peregrine.
If the goshawk catches a crow, the other crows come together from all over. I put the goshawk immediately into the car and let my falcon fly.
This are pics from today. It's her 7th crow in 8 flight this year.
The dog is my young "Deutsch-Kurzhaar" Cabo.

Great looking bird Daniel. I think it's brilliant that you let the crow falcon fly after the crows have gathered above the gos kill. that makes it easy to get a slip for the falcon:supz:

Great pics. Good idea to get the crows within striking distance and then unleash the Falcon, I've just got a 4 year old Female Gos, training her now.

hi,great pics, how far back from the crows are you when you slip the goshawk? As I like to hunt crows with my 07 gos,the longest slip so far has been 200 yards with the crow having a 30 yard head start.

Hello,
Oh, 200 yards is very good !!!
She never hunt so far sitting crows. The hunts max. 100Yards.
She is a good, but not the best goshawk. But she catches not only crows. She catches everything, but only short distances.
Sometimes I can't understand what she thinks. For example yesterday. She was sitting on a very high tree. Under this tree a little pheasant flight away and she is sitting on the tree and looks only after the pheasant. After a few yards the pheasant flew into a hedge. I was very angry... Why did she not try to catch him ???? I don't know. 30 minutes later she was on the fist and 30yards away a realy big male pheasant fly away. She flew from the fist like a bat out of hell and catched the pheasant. I can't understand this gos. But shes Ok and I love she
The Gos I had before, was much better, but this Gos died with 13 years, because he catched a cat in the field.
A friend of me (second picture) has a little gos tiercel. He don't want, that I show him at the internet. This is a very excellent bird. His gos is 3 yeras old and hunt 300-400yards. Sometimes if we can't find crows on the ground for him, he fly into the sky like a falcon an hunt crows in 50 or 80 yards high. This is a very great hunting I've never seen befor by a gos. But look at the picture from this gos and you can understand it :yawinkle:
