i can reccomend the use of a product called SORGENE 5 available from farmway, it can be used to disinfect areas frequented by just about all animals, dogs, birds, etc. It is diluted with water 100-1 and makes your aviarys smell great! it also takes away the nasty niff in the back garden where your dog tends to "irrigate" regularly, it costs under a tenner and lasts for ever (hey that rhymes) stick it in a watering can, mix up and away you go!

Go to any good vets and they will sell it there, its about £16 for around quarter of a litre, stops all known bird diseases (it is not just for birds)it's totally harmless and the bird can even consume it when it is added to the water and give the bird xtra protection,we had a guest speaker at the local falconry club from marshall telemetry, they are selling it now as well..he gave a really good account of it..Aaahhh heard of this F10 stuff before, originally comes from South Africa. great stuff! This kit could be really handy for those involved in breeding, I hate going near the aviary too much filling baths etc cos of the upset it causes the inhabitors. Cant leave dirty green water in there though. look forward to seeing the write up :)
i use f10,didnt know about the bath water though, how much to how much dude? :?:

depends on what you want to do with it,i generally put a cap full into a large bath, where do you buy yours from gaz and how much?
on the back of the bottle it tells you how much to add to prevent certain diseases in your bird such as Staphylococcus aureus wich effects the respitory system.also if you wash the birds feet in the diluted form it prevents and also erradicates bumble foot.
here is there website, look under the user guidelines tab and there is a PDF with all the info about birds of prey.
http://www.healthandhygiene.net/
e.g. Staphylococcus aureus 1:1000 water 2 minutes
Gram Negative bacteria:
e.g. Pseudomonas aeruginosa 1:500 water 2 minutes
Fungi,Yeast, Moulds:
e.g. Candida albicans 1:500 water 15 minutes
Fungal spores:
e.g. Aspergillus niger 1:250 water 30 minutes
Virus:
e.g. Newcastle Disease Virus 1:500 water 10 minutes
Rabies 1:500 water 30 minutes
Infectious Bursal Disease 1:250 water 20 minutes
Parvovirus 1:125 water 30 minutes
Bacterial spores:
e.g. Bacillus subtilis spores 1:125 water
