when i lived on salisbury plain a mate of mine had a 4wd estate of this particular mark, it was a heap but it went everywhere! places even the police range rover wouldnt go! (but then my mate wasnt to concerned about the bodywork if you know what i mean) he was more concerned about the consequences of actually getting caught

I have just rid myself of an Impreza turbo, yesterday, I am glad too because it was absolute pants, I bought it because I thought It would be a bit of a lark(You know, as you do)All I can say is that it was the most boring car I have ever driven. I got rid of an Audi Avant Quattro to get it too!
Big mistake
The Impreza was no good for hawking either, It was loud enough to wake the dead!!

Cheese and onion(so where did all the potato in it come from? )

I managed to microwave it to the point where the outside is "Nuclear heated" but the centre is still cold (Mmm tasty :tonqe:  )

Tim Laycock
30-05-2005, 01:15 AM
Not this one mate, Its been "Seriously breathed on" by Abbot Racing.

Nothing wrong with a young man in an old mans car though!!
It was a toss up between the Saab and a 4.0 XJS running LPG :tonqe:

Tim Laycock
30-05-2005, 01:31 AM
Thats what I said to the wife
I love em!!!
In the end it came down to rear legroom for my lad (The Jag did not score heavily in this department) There was 2" leg room behind my seat :(

Finnish
30-05-2005, 01:32 AM
And that is no good if your lad is 6 foot.

Tim Laycock
30-05-2005, 01:48 AM

North East Harris Hawker

Dave Whitt
30-05-2005, 11:08 PM
Westfield SEi, with 2.1 Pinto, twin 45 webbers, high torque cam, skimmed and gas flowed head, lightend flywheel, ford type 9 five speed gearbox, limited slip diff.
It produces 166BHP at the wheels and weighs about 750kg that 220 BHP per ton or 0 - 60 in 4.9

I`v seen another review of an atom and unfortunatley unless you are a racing driver the chances are you will kill yourself there is too much power to the rear wheels and not enoughf weight, meaning if you slip up and apply the power to soon in a corner you will be facing the wrong way if this car was all wheel drive it would be amazing

Renton
31-05-2005, 08:57 PM
A frightening machine! I think I would feel safer on two wheels, it looks a little too close to the ground for me.

Tim Laycock
31-05-2005, 11:15 PM
unless you are a racing driver the chances are you will kill yourself there is too much power to the rear wheels
Why is it that nowerdays If you want to buy a brandnew RWD car you have to buy a top line motor???
I personaly despise front wheel drive, Rwd in everyday cars is now a rarity!!
It makes me furious

I must admit i do like the car (when i get to drive it properly that is without the missus going " your over 4500 revs------your driving like a racing driver " ) I find the service expensive but the Mitsi dealers i have dealt with very good. Parts are expensive to, just bought new badge for the middle of one wheel, a bit of plastic with the Mitsi logo on £15

Want to trade in for a landy myself but the wife is adamant after years of 4 x 4 this car stays.

Not quite M8 but I used to run a RWD Sapphire Cosworth :D

When it rained I used to p1ss my pants laughing  but if it snowed It would not move an inch :(

Nice motor WW.
I considdered the VR4 estate model prior to getting the subaru, I think i should have considdered it a bit more realy as my subaru was poo!

North East Harris Hawker
02-06-2005, 09:12 AM
looks like you must have a few quid chris, i like the shogun pic as well, shame about the cost of parts and servicing..
whats all this about letting your woman dictate what 4x4 you drive?
you dont tell her how to cook the dinner do you?
my advice, get the car YOU want in the COLOUR she likes!!!
thats abvout the only thing thats imprtant to women when it comes to cars... even though they know everything, its the finer points of service and part costs that they generally overlook

Wightwings
02-06-2005, 09:49 AM
pmsl.........no mate i skint most of the time ( like spending money and anyhow thats what its for ). I'll ask the missus if its ok for me to do that..........lol......

Wightwings
02-06-2005, 10:00 AM
i personnaly like the defender series. they look more rugged and traditional but have also seen a few second hand disco's that look really nice and you also get that extra bit of comfort.

North East Harris Hawker
02-06-2005, 10:13 AM
i like the defender counties, 11 seats! a proper piece of kit, the 300tdi varients are coming down to a decentish price these days (my disco is a300tdi with 183k on it) still good for dragging cars out of the mud
the bigger landies also dont have to pay the congestion charge in london
have a look at this

Wightwings

interesting read that Lee, especially as i have just had to pay a £75 fine for none payment of the charge. I very rarely drive into the centre normally travel the cattle rail but last month ventured in and TOTALLY forgot about the bloody charge.......muppet.

Wightwings
02-06-2005, 12:20 PM
thats not a bad price what are the details on it? year etc i may be tempted to have a look at one myself if i can get the right part ex on the mitsi. paying around the 10k is not to bad at all.
