Here is Teal's replacement...Nixie. I never intended to fly her, and she has been in my breeding pen with my musket since I bought her earlier this year. Since Teal has got a little run down, I decided to swap them over and have a go at flying this girl. Today she was 235g and jumped three feet to the fist. I got a few snaps of her but most were blurred. The best couple are these ones with her breakfast all over her face....

Nixie was down to 218g today. I didn't think I would have to take her this low but she is still pretty unresponsive. Had a bit of a break through today, I introduced the lure. She was much keener to this than the fist. I avoided using the lure with my last couple of spars, largely because their manners on it were horrible. I always ended up with hands cut to bits, and the spars ended up with trashed tails. Nixie however has impecable manners. Its a first for me to have a spar that has absolutly no aggresion toward me....I just hope she is keeping it reserved for the quarry!

Holy goggles, Batman! She looks like something from the muppet show! Can those eyes open any farther?
Awesome bird.
