Lahori bells are best in tones no other bell is compared to them as the sheet of brass which is used is too thin and the tone made by the bell is loud and they are feather weight, though now they are available in silver steel and gold platted colours. and above all they are affordable equipment.

Dessa bells brought a couple of new pairs last year for my cast of harris's and lets put it like this they withstood a few thousand volts when my FHH fryed on power lines and the males got the same set on as last year too

i had andy peels bells on sky when she whent awol they were audible over trafic and over a great distance, and the best of all,the tail bell fell off with the telle transmiter it was later located in the middle of the road after being run over umpteen times, although squashed out of recognition there was no break in the seam and it still looked good,i'll buy no other bells while andy is making em.

OK, so you've discussed the bells that you think are good and now it's time to pass on a warning.

A friend of mine came round yesterday and proudly showed me the new bells he has bought for his bird from a seller on E bay. He was obviously pleased that he had outbid everybody and won the auction. The price £17.00 - not unreasonable I hear you say! Until you realise that the bells he paid £17.00 for were a pair of 'gold coloured' Lahore bells that would sell from any falconry equipment supplier in the UK for between £5.50 and £8.00.

I appreciate that any individual is entitled to sell on E bay but I do find it annoying when people are ripped off like this. My friend had a choice and made the wrong one so both parties are to blame for the eventual high price.

There are certainly some bargains to be had on E bay or alternativle you can just be..................had! He was, so it's worth checking carefully just what it is that you are buying.

All the best,
Red

nail on the head mate, you can get a bargain on ebay but at present not in the falconry section,i took the time some time ago to save to favourites some well known falconry suppliers, every thing is cheaper from them, the worst i've seen was a dog wistle with a 2.50 postage charge to the uk only
i'm shure you could send a dog whistle to the moon for an extra quid, falconers taking advantage is what i see. no dissrespect meant to anyone

you have a good piont there jiff, if folks were worried that their goods wont make a decent fee then they should set a reserve rather then sting people for postage :x

i think the whole e-bay thing is a con. you can get most things cheaper elsewhere its just a fad at the moment that will quieten down.
you can and will get all your falconry needs from decnt suppliers. lets face it there is more choice these days and the "net" makes it sooooo much easier. plus you know what your getting

I think the point about e bay has been made but I also had a friend buy a pair of jesses, very well (and dishonestly) described. He paid £7.50 for them only to have them tear on first use. Luckily he didn't lose his bird but he so easily could have.

Another friend, obviously just as gullible, bless him, bought a hood for £25.00. Not only did it not fit his bird but clearly it was a first attempt at hood making by a close acquaintance of Stevie friggin Wonder! I guess some people just have to learn the hard way but let's be sure it's not you.

All the best,
Red

Ali, I know who you are and what bells and equipment you sell. I wish you no disrespect but please don't try and tell falconers on this forum that Lahore bells are the best you can buy. They are considered to be nothing better than 'affordable' over here. They are not bad bells but to describe them as:
>Lahori bells are best in tones no other bell is compared to them <
is simply inaccurate at best.

Red

Hi Red,
mate if there is any fault with them then you might be right in every way, but at least they are the first ones which falconers have been using since long time, Though no hard feelings mate, everyones got the right to say and to write........no hard feelings at all.
Regards,
Ali
