Who has got insurance for public liability and product liability etc. and who has there birds insured?

I am insured with BASC mainly for my shooting but it also covers falconry. I have £5 million public liability, £5 mil, product liability and £10 mil. employer liability. (not that I employ anyone).

I also have my birds insured with Exotic Direct, which covers, vets bills upto £1500 per claim, theft, loss and death. For both birds I pay around £18 per month but that insures the birds for double what I paid for them.

Hope you all have a new Game Licence, for the up and comming season.

I do appologise for posting this in the wrong area. I've had a long day with the Harris.
Cream crackered. 20mph winds but he managed, bless him. If that doesn't muscle him up nothing will!!! I do like flying him in gusty conditions and he enjoys flying in it.

For the uninitiated, Exotic Direct site is www.exoticdirect.co.uk
BASC is www.basc.org.uk/

I look forward to really stormy weather. My pere/saker just can't get enough of it. He will play around for half an hour or more; swooping and diving and generally having a great time. It's amazing to watch him catching the wind like this. He just seems to be able to deal with it and then simply hop down for a lure. I'm probably breaking all the rules but ...

Am I right in thinking you can get third party insurance through the Countryside Alliance?

I am insured through the Scottish Asociation for Country Sports (SACS). They offer the same insurance package as BASC at half the price.....no big staff bills or fancy cars to pay for you see!

Check it out at www.irishfieldsports.com/sacsni

Over 8,000 of us in the northern part of the UK can't be wrong!

you will have 3rd party liability insurance through membership of either the BFC or CA. This will give you cover if you damage a member of public or property, but may not cover damage to another falconers bird, and won't cover vets fees etc.

Personally I'd be careful with E&L insurance, they have a lot of small print for you to read, and are not too keen to hand money out.
