If you would like a good book that will answer all your questions, may i suggest you obtain a copy of jemima parry jones' book 'understanding owls' This is a brilliant start. She has also written others but this is a pretty good one to get you going.

Started my barnowl at 1 day old with just meat no bone about matchstick head lumps every 2 hrs till she was full (about 4-5 lumps) DOC. Then at 3 days went on to 1/2 backleg of pinkie mouse, bone and all once, and then mouse flesh for the rest of the feed. every 3 hrs for the next 3 days.. Then minced up DOC and pinkie mouse together with touch of vitamin SA37, little lumps about little fingernail size till she was full 4 hourly for about the next week. She soon went on to 4 then 6 hourly and I gradually increased the size of the lumps as she grew. Don't know if that was right but it worked!
