Hi folks, just been looking at some eyelet applicators on the web. they are a bit pricey arnt they.
The ones I use, I got from a local material shop. They look like a large pair of pliers, if you get your eyelets from the same place they will come with a plastic applicator. Remove applicator eyelet holder thinges and put them straight into plier things. job done! Thats just cost 13 quid. Theres a pair on Ebay, have a gander. Ken.
sorry folks ive put this info in the wrong catagury, carn't ya tell i'm new :?
ken i've seen them eyelet tools on ebay, once you add the over the top p and p they'r not worth it you can buy them from any online falconry supplier cheaper with a gaurantee, pluss from a supplier you might whant to order other bits and bobs, the p and p still won't be as much as the robbing gets on ebay

Hello,
So for anyone who would like to have a really good tool for fixing eyelets...just go to the site of Mr. Mohr and order one!
The only disadvantage is that with this tool you also need the good quality eyelets and washers that mr. Gerhard Mohr offers also on his site.
But really..just once closing the tool and the eyelets are fixed....its one of the best tools I have. Expensive but great value for money!
The site of mr Mohr is http://home.t-online.de/home/Mohr.W-dorf/werkzeuge.htm
Then you just order 1014, http://home.t-online.de/home/Mohr.W-dorf/werkzeuge.htm if you want to. If needed with the 1051, Werkzeuge versch. Größen für Almeryzange PROFI.
Like I said costs are (little bit) higher but the product is really great!
Kind regards,
Wilfred

Just want to mention I myself have very bad experiences with the Revolutionary Eyelet Closing Tool/Pliers to be seen at the falconiformes website,,,,,like the eyelets just springing loose again by just pulling a little bit at the aylmeri manchetts...you would not want THAT to happen when putting your bird away just after changing the jesses....

Hi Everyone,
I saw the pics of the items on the link Mr. Wilfred has provided in his message and i can get those easily, but the ones professionals use in factories of jeans, belts and i am sure those tools will be far more better than the ones you see in the website i will get full information on this as well as see the tools and use them myself and if everything is ok i will get you guys tools in loads:)
Regards,
Ali

Wilfred,
I think this problem is down to eyelets supplied with the tool (not the tool), I know one of the first suppliers and he has a different eyelet to use than the regular ones in use - not had a problem with these. But I know many people are now selling the same tool but not the correct eyelet. Unless they have made the correct die for the eyelet they will be poor. The screw type tool are foolproof but "usually require" the hawk to be cast, these plier type allow one handed anklet replacement without casting - handy for a young imprint.
