Just pulled a tiercel 1st year adult finnish out the chamber he has never been trainined before. Any tips on getting him going as of now he mostly hangs up side down chittering I only got him to stand on the fist when I make the room almost completly dark, he tore on the glove a bit last night but afte that he went into bating fits and hung upside down I couldnt get him to regain the fist.

if i were you id do this................
dont over mann him whilst he is still fat for a start as long sessions of him being stressed and bating aint gonna help matters:wink:
short and sweet till he looks interested in feeding once his weights down a bit and he has a bit of an appetite and standing on the fist is the way id go about it!!

p.s i aint got alot of experience with gosses inparticular but this method has worked for me with other birds!

Sounds a little fat to me. Reduce his weight before you end up teaching him bad habits on the fist. As Tim said, short and sweet sessions until he is eating on the fist. Then start heavy manning.

Took my first female 3 days before she'd even stand on the fist.....to be honest there is little point trying to mann them when they're at that stage they just hate you for it....so just as Tim says.
