Hi all

I have been working my buns off trying to get my Male GyrxPeregrine entered again this year. Had some great advice from matt in beginers questions. Matts great but, I need a little more. I have been workin so hard with this bird. He's great, he chases everything. Most of the time I lose the chase and have to track him on the telem. I have been workin on getting the bird waiting on and stooping from a pitch at game. I have now lost the game ground and need to get him chasing from slips off the fist, please help i'm nackered chasin this bird. He's great, brill to the lure, and chases most stuff. If any of you fancy bringing bringing your bird to the wiltshire chalk downs for a day in the week or a weekend. PM me or answer this.
I have run out of idea's
Cheers to you all
Me

i believe i recently have done this . . . have just enterd a two year old female game hawk pere x gyr/saker on rooks and gulls all i did was drop the birds weight a LITTLE then allowed her to climb were there are plenty of birds about did not walk under her just stood still and she got bored waiting for me to serve her and checked on a rook now she is takeing gull she is prooving to be a prety good out of the hood falcon setting off immediatly the hood is off its hard to keep control of any bird that "chases everything" but my only advice on that one is get ur bird back on the fist as soon as she misses her intended target "check" also exists in rook n gullhawking allowing a bird to chase one then another then another can lead to selfhunting . . .male gyr x peregrines rock by the way on rook and gull . . . good luck and happy hunting :)

Forgett taking him hunting for a week and stoop her to a dead crow (using a pole is easiest) and do a lot of dragged crow work to get his focus in, so he expects to come out of the hood with a target in sight, then try and give him dome slips on singles and try and get him back as quickly as possible if he misses as.
Dont start taking difficult slips because you want to do something, if you cant find a good slip take him home

Just sit doen and think WHAT you are actually communicating to the hawk and does he understand what you are trying to get him to do?

I would say he is too low too if he bogs off all the time:wink:
