I'm flying Annie (female Gos) for Pendleside for a couple of months so I thought I would start a thread and let you all know how I'm getting on (had her for 4 weeks)
She's had 10 rabbits; 3 duck; 2 pheasants and a morehen and a grey old man flying off a pond!!!
She's flying around the 2lb 8oz mark. Spikeysnapper (new ff member) has been out with me taking a few photo's for me (hope he can put them on?)

hopefully the aggression will be taken out on the game, that's the idea anyway. Put plenty of stuff infront of her. Only slight aggression I have come accross(but not really aggression), after coming off the lure pad she is quick to run around to the right hand side of me, in my opinion I think she knows where the food is coming from!? but it's not really aggression it's just her character? I'm having none of it, I just pick her up start walking and she has a rouse and is ready to start again.
Had a really good day, quick walk, she took a duck off a stream which tried to fly through a wood, only got about 15ft in the air before she nailed it, not the best flight in the world but every kill gives her confidence.
About 15mins later and another cracking flight, bird was already wet, duck got up about 100yrds infront on opposite side of trees, didn't think Annie had any chance, but she was off over the trees and flew it down over the field. so 2 ducks in a short space of time. Not bad 2 out of 2.
Quick walk today, no ducks about because farmer was cutting trees so it was a kick about the bushes, had a good flight on a rabbit, caught it, so fed her up and home

Just letting you all know how Annie's getting on. Flying at 2lb 8 1/2oz. I've had nothing spectacular with her over the last week because of all the rain we've had!!! All the brooks etc have gone too deep so the ducks aren't feeding on them (they've gone elsewhere).
All in all her response has become fantastic, totally silent at home which is a pleasure off an imprint. Still no aggression in the field.
Have had a number of morehen and a handfull of rabbits. She's a pleasure to fly.
It's been a great opportunity to experience handling a Gos, really appreaciate Pendleside's trust in me to fly a great bird.

Decided to take Annie out on to higher ground today to try for a pheasant. Sick of trudging around in all the boggy fields!!!
Paid off nicely, I had two flights at cock pheasants, one a short flight it beat Annie to cover. Second flight was a good long flight full length of a field , a good length at that!
Annie flew it hard the full length of the field but unfortunately no catch on either.
seen a few hens going into some small bushes so I thought here's my chance! Flushed one of the hens and had about a 70/80yard flight over a thick patch of gorse, Annie got underneath it and took it out of the sky.
(not good picture think I've got it on the wrong setting !lol!)

just an update on how Annie is getting on.
Scott came out with me Sat morning so we decided to go out for a pheasant. Had a decent flight on a hen pheasant, about 100yrd flight, over the brow of the hill so I actually missed the catch itself! It looked like she had pulled the pheasant down as it was going into cover, so all in all it was a nice quick walk - went for a pheasant and came home with one!
Took Harris' out in the afternoon, but that's on Reagan 2007 thread!
Annie had a rabbit Sun morning, probably only out of the car 10mins, was in a bit of a rush to get back so at least she had a kill.
Spikeysnapper has a few pics from Sunday.

just filling in for Shaun as his broadbands gone tits up again!!!!lol
Took annie out yesterday to the bottom fields for a few few flights on some ducks, and fair play she nailed one of the fastest. The TEAL, using some of his field craft skills Shaun flanked the ducks and flushed them from the side . on the way back to the car we saw some more teal but unfortunately they flushed too soon and they got the better of her.
I'll be sorry to see her go
just in case anybody asks if it was a good flight.....remember it was a teal!!!!haha

Shaun and I flew Annie again, the weather conditions were very poor, plus we wanted to fly the harrises too so we were constrained by time.
there wasn't alot about so we couldn't watch her flying to her full potential, but she nailed a moorhen.....result not bad for a quick walk. I got a crackin view of it too she came behind and underneath it then sort of did a backflip an grabbed it.

Filling in for Shaun again..... If anybody is ever thinking of changing their internet to talk talk, then speak to shaun or Lianne first!!!!!!!!!tehe
The weather was atrocious today but we needed to take Annie out anyway to feed her away from the house (with her being an imprint). we waded through the marshes to see if we could slip her on some duck or pheasant, unfortunately there was nothing out so we decided to head back. in the last field before the car there was a small gull there so we decided to try an slip her on it. She flew straight over it an headed over to the wood back the otherway.....aaaarrrrgggghhhh....NIGHTMARE
so we headed towards there sharpish an when we got there she was callin a bit like she does occasionally when shes mantling. after ****ing myself watchin Shaun go flying over the barbwire fence i heard him say SCOTT come here quick shes got a buzzard. Luckily I had my glove with me which is always handy for unexpected times like this!!!!!! Luckily both birds were safe and unharmed. and we released the buzzard back into the woods.
ive never seen one so upclose before, its different to the ones ive seen in books it was mainly white with only brown on its back it was a beautiful looking bird and reminded me of a redtailed hawk.
Im sorry theres no pictures at the mo but ive sent them to Shaun and he will upload them A.S.A.P

Out yesterday, with Annie we had some brilliant flights on some mallard but unfortunatly no catches. The smart-arsed little things kept on heading back down to the water and diving to avoid her. the know theve got no chance against her on open ground.:-P
heres the pic from when she caught the buzzard the other day. sorry its not the best pic but when didnt want to distress it any further so we let it go a.s.a.p.....
Its nice to see Annie in action again well done mate:supz:

Just thought I'd take the chance to update you on Annie - there doesn't seem to be any ducks or pheasants around where I have permission?
Annie's last flight on duck was the day before last. 8 got up in front of me from the stream and she had a go at a hen. I cast her off the fist and she chose her target and out-flew it to be fair! As she was coming to bind to the duck, which was flying parallel to the stream, it just put itself right back in the water - end of flight!!!
She has had a handfull of morehens in the last week, not particularly exciting flights but I'm sure Annie is pleased with herself?
No duck about today, seen a rabbit going down a set in the corner of the field so put the ferret down and had a cracking flight. Rabbit bolted straight into the winds, which were in excess of 30mph today, Annie flew it down with ease.
Finished on a good note so let her feed up on it and then home.
Sorry no pics today , memory card was full!!??
Flew at 2lb 9 1/2oz today

She battered the Brittany on one occasion, scared the living daylights out of the dog, second or third time we were out. She flew over the dog really well in the end just kept trying her (dog was a bit wary for a while lol!)
Not sure what weight she is now, she's back with Pete. I ended up flying her at 2lb 10oz. She would have flown a lot higher if I could have got her fitter but I only had her for a short while.
