If ya wana travel, great hunting cites round here, and up in the penines. The farmers are friendly chaps and will do anything for a bottle of wine or a 6-pack of beer!

Best way to approach it is to post a letter of introduction thru the door, telling them a bit about your bird, its impact on livestock or crops, state your a responsible person ( you'll just have to lie Jonny   )

and it also helps if you are carrying some kind of insurance?

Call round a couple of days later, dress respectibly and at the very worst they will suggest someone they know who might be able to help you.

Most farmers are busy people and dont want to make snap decisions on the spot,

i've found this approach superb!

thanks for the welcome

all i say is 'are you the owner of the surrounding fields' they say 'yes why?' and probably worry there horse is dead or somethig, then when i say i am a falconer and its hard getting land etc (hehe get sympathy) they are relieved thats all it is and say i can't see why not. Also try and get a converation going about falconry an how it doesn't do any harm to their land. Some grumpy *******s soon loosen up to the idea and show genuine interest. Maybe i am just lucky but this seems to work for me, maybe its becuase i'm 17, but i thought they would rather an older person be on their land perosnally.
