I've had a cracking few days hunting with Doc my Gyr x Peregrine, culminating in this capture this afternoon.
Because of recent work commitments I haven't been able to fly my falcons but they both know the game and they forget nothing now.

I picked Doc up on Saturday, weighed him and went out. I will never know how he stays up to the mark! He knocked down a cock pheasant but was left with a cloud of feathers as it beat him into cover.
Yesterday he flew even harder and knocked down a cock bird again but didn't bind quickly enough and was again narrowly beaten.

Today he flew higher again and hit another cock with a tremendous strike that put it down but again he didn't manage to grab it before it made dense cover. My GSP however was still on point and Doc powered up again.
A hen pheasant broke cover before he was well positioned again but his speed was incredible today as he overtoo her and bound to her in mid air.
There was no way he was letting this one get away.

I only managed one photo unfortunately before I realised that the battery was out on the camera. You will note by the "red-eye" that it was coming in dusky! Honest he hasn't really got red eyes although at the moment he is flying like a demon! lol.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
