Bloody well done!

A left and a right with a 12 bore at woodcock is damned hard to do.

Can't beat a Harris!!!

i was out with my tercil peregrine this morning , he was waiting on as usual when i was disracted with a buzzard flying over the next feild carrying a DUCK that was quacking away loudly (never seen anything like that before) any ways when i looked up the pere was gone from sight so i got out the telemetry and tracked him down in the next field but . guess what he was plucking ? a woodcock ive never even seen one round here never mind took one. oh well thats how it goes,,,

I live in the north of Scotland and woodcock come through on migration in good numbers. I have had a lot of flights at them with my male gos (up to half a dozen in a day) but no kills yet. The woodcock always outfly the gos. My peregrine tiercel did knock one down but lost it in the heather.

So I've done some research. It seems falcons can cut them down in the first stoop without too much trouble as they do not usually take evasive action. But if there is a tail chase, it could go on for miles...and miles...and miles!<g>
