The Welsh Hawking Club was founded in South Wales in 1962 by a handful of Welsh sportsmen under the guidance of a Hungarian falconer of international fame, Lorant de Bastyai who became their first President. The W.H.C. was invited to attend the international field meetings of the Osterreichischer Falknerbund (Austria) and the Deutscher Falkenorden (Germany). As the club became internationally known more invitations soon followed. Members often returned with Goshawks on their fists, which were gifts from new friends, made at the meetings. It is now the second largest club in the Country with a membership in excess of 350 includmany from abroad who attend our field meetings.

Spent a couple of days in the company of Mick at the fair.
Tidy chap and also sells some cheap batteries.
He does alot of hunting over in the czech republic at the moment where he has a few places. Goldies on deer is the biggest part of it.
Like i said a tidy guy.

hi ben. We roughly get between 15 - 30 members turn up for the meetings. Sometimes we have a guest speaker or a video or a talk off someone. I've only been going myself for the last four months. Not sure if there's anything on tonight or whether its just a chat and a few pints.
Also Nick from honeybrookfarm makes a delivery every night of the meetings if you place an order . He usually has some spare boxes on board if you haven't ordered but i wouldn't rely on this if your short of food - better to place an order. If you decide to come your more than welcome - just ask for jason(me) or mike and we'll have a pint.
