i've got a friends 2 year old female harris while he's away, i've got the opportunity to possibly have this bird on permanent loan because of his circumstances. its a great bird flying on its own, it flew last year in a few field meets no real problems. but this year took her to a field meet and she attacked another harris no reason that i or other falconers could see looked like a minor disagreement pecking order that sort of thing. took her out with jade last saturday they flew together well for about 5 mins then the loan HH attacked my bird it wasn't just a squabble it was a major talon through head!, feather plucking attack. my dilema is ofcourse how can i get her from doing this. as the moult is fast approaching i was thinking about gradually putting them together from time to time on seperate bow perches then when they are put up and fat putting them in together. thing is i dont wanna take on a bird that isn't sociable and when next season arrives and shes hunting weight she does the same thing again. can i get her out of this without risking it happening again???? cheers guys

You can only do what you are suggesting. Like in life some people are just plain AGRO, some hawks too!

why cant life ever be easy! i've had so much hassle with all my birds sometimes i think is it worth it. i've put in so much time and effort into these birds and they either die, are stuck in their ways or just plain nasty!! they are both sittin out on the decking 10 ft from each other screaming
