What is the probability that my peregrine wife would mate and reproduce with a saker tercel or with a hybrid tercel ( prairie x gyr ) ?

I was led to beleive that a falcon would only copulate with the type of falcon it was reared by i e a perigrine will only reproduce with another perigrine etc as this bird was imprited on to peregrines. So i dont think you will have much luck unless the birds have been imprinted in such a way. Also some hybrids fertility rates are not that good so may be worth checking that out aswell. I am not an expert so it is probabbly worth checking with some one with more experience.:yawinkle:

As Long as the female doesn't kill the male, there is a big chance they may breed and if not this year, the next. I have my chamber raised female Saker paired with a chamber raised male Gyr!! A well known breeder over here does that all the time..

Hope this helped,
