hi guys
at the moment i breed 60 quail a month but at the sametime i throw out 60 eggs when the incubator is full. i am sick eating them and so is all my family so cant even give them away, so if anybody wants some i would be happy to post them to you,, unfortunatly i would have to ask you to cover the cost of postage, i have sent out 2 batches before of 30 eggs and it cost £10 for next day delivery,,, at the moment i get 20 to 25 chicks from 30 eggs, but andy who i sent them to is only getting about 10 hatching( i think the posting has alot to do with it) anyway is just an idea as i dont like throwing them out,,

Hi Brian,
Wasted quail eggs drives me mad, especially after alll the work ect.
Try getting another Octogan 20 with Cradle?
As you know incubation takes 17 days to hatch, but if you collect your eggs daily and then place them fresh and clean in your spare incubator (turned Off) but with the cradle on they will set nicely ( even after a couple of weeks) so long as the temp is constant (not high or low) and they are being constantly turned.
By leapfogging incubators you are able to produce around 150 birds a month from two small machines, allowing you to renew laying birds every 20 weeks and cull enough to make it worth you while?
People always want quail, especially at this time of year with the breeding season upon us?

Hi Brian
What Incubator would you recommend.
I have a local bird shop looking out for bob white quail for me at the moment.
However i would be interested in some of your eggs.

Hi Mark,
I personally use a Brinsea Octagon 20 incubator with auto-turner, lovely little incubator not to costly and said to be able to hold 60 quails eggs.

HH
