tricky one that , most local councils have somthing covering livestock, EG hens ,geese etc and also covering the number of pet birds ,,, as in you could have 2 budgies in a cage but not 50 in an avairy, best advise is to ask the landlord what the rules are before getting started. eg my father in law has just moved from Airdrie in central Scotland where he kept doos to Lauder in the borders , he has just been refused permision to have his loft rebuilt, and is now left in limbo with his doos stil at his old address over 100 miles away

a friend of mine has 6 birds of prey in avairys in the garden of his council house but different areas may have different rules

ive got tennants and they are not allowed any animals or wildstock whatsoever :? i recon the council will be different though, the council estates in middlesbrough are full of cats n dogs etc, i would be surprised if anyone were brave enough to tell the owners to get rid of them!

We live in Council owned house and you need to draw a plan of your garden, Measure the perimeter and draw on your plan where you intend to put your mews it must be approx 15ft away from the house and 1meter away from any hedge row.
You also have to prove that the Bird of prey is not dangerous in any way shape or form.
You can get the bylaws from your local council office in booklet form.
We now have 2 mews and had no probs yet but i think it also depends alot on your neighbors.
I would check it out and build according to there bylaws because they can make you rip your mews down and get rid of the bird or worse still evict you.
