I can get access to ample amounts of shredded paper - clean office waste. Any comments on suitability or not for mews floor for free lofting. Obviously in a roofed mews.

Attraction being it is easy collect and to remove and dispose of - quick bonfire well away from the hawks.

Well mate we all know the dangers of bio degradable Organic material and Fungus, but shredded paper in a dry environment changed regularly shouldnt offer any prob what so ever!

Hows the new bird doing? (Scratchley?)

i wouldnt use it mate, how big is youre mew,it would have to be cleaned very regularly which could become a bug bare, damp and paper dont mix well, and even tho you say you're mew is fully covered there will still be damp, then fungus as the paper reacts(it is wood after all) i can understand where your comming from but i would advise go for gravel, which can be raked and hosed from time to time. one last point, with a fully covered mew its very important to erradicate any chance of fungi spores in the air.

I tried it in my dog kennell for bedding. Its a nightmare, one gust of wind and the garden is covered in it. Walk in and out of a mews and its stuck all over your shoes and then all over the garden.

Why do you want such a material in your mews anyway??
