Well thanks for that info Claire, that's just about the exact things I have been studing from exsperienced falconers who have flown them for years. Looks like it's a ify bird to use depending on the terrin.
i've spoken to martin hollinshead about the ferruginous hawk,he's flown them, but like me he seems to be harris' brain washed, however they can make a formidable hunting hawk for rabbit and hare,in open country. i have a contact for martin you can ask you'r questions of him weather or not you get an answer is another question, ferruginous dont, like a harris pick them selves up and carry on the chase, they dont like trees or cover so its open country hare and rabbit martin.hollinshead@virgin.net used to be he's contact, being female is a great advantage as i asked for advice and only got it when i logged on as my wife dawn......'whats all that about'

Hey thanks for the e-mail address. I just sent a message to him we'll see if he replies. Appricate your efforts. I really what to cover every base before obtaining one of those birds. I know everything is not always in books we read, I learned that lesson the hard way. So personal contacts with exspeienced trainers sometimes works well.
