my gsp has been acting strangely, he has been out working today and washed down in the garage as normal.
tonight he just wont settle down, up and down, sneezing, scraping his back legs on the carpet (like they do when they have just dumped)
lieing down rubbing his back legs(feet) on the carpet, getting up and lieing down in places that he never normally does...had he stung his feet?
whats going on with him? he is 5 yrs old and castrated

Poison Ivy? Does sound strange, but not alarming. Is he chewing/licking his paws? Rinse him off again... see if that works.

sounds like nettles Lee either that or he doesnt like the shampoo you used........
nettles for me too mate, they dont tend to feel it till they decide to settle, you would usualy see alot of paw chewing going on tho'you can buy a cream called liverine dog unction, absolutely ancient medicine but fantastic for nettle, bee, stings insect bites skin alergies and just about anything that affects your dogs skin, available from almost any pet shop.

THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE GUYS,OOops, he was worked near kirklevington and the cover was nettles, thorns and ivy
i bathed him in head and shoulders and rinsed him off three times (no dandruff and a lovely shine :D ) he was ok the next day
there was a lot of paw licking and biting/face rubbing so it must have been down to stingage! oh well, serves him right for chasing that first rabbit :x
last time he rubbed his face on the ground and in the grass was when i fed him one of the wife's curries, i was full of flu so i put extra chilli in it so i could taste it... apparently it was like napalm on a plate!
never seen a dog drink so much!
