Importing harris hawks

has any one on the forum ever imported harrises or any other birds to that matter?

is it a massively costly thing to do?
and is it a a process that is not worth all the hassle?

I'm only asking because it is a question that was asked me and i didn't have the answer

im sure it can still be done, but i dont see the point, carefull selection from the right breeders will ensure good stock especially if its size your looking for. the once average 2lb 2 oz female is now hovering around the 2lb mark (and under in some cases)
i know of a handfull that breed for size, fat females of over 3lb and fat males over 2lb 3 are still out there if you look carefully
i know of one chap who has a male hunting at 1lb 12 1/2, my hen birds record bunny kill is at 2lb 8 1/2 there may even be larger p/r stock out there! :wink:

I think it would work out a fortune too going by the cost of them over in the States?
