attacking dogs

hi all
as some off you know i am flying a f harris,got her in November.
I have got a springer that she gets on gr8 with also had a cocker till i sold it recently and was gr8 with that also.
about 3 weeks ago she was in a tree and straight line for a small dog and hit it.at the owner had stopped panicking i got her off,but as it was a small dog I can understand her hitting it.yesterday when I was out she went for a dog the size off a pointer.luckily she missed and the dog ran off as fast as poss.
mt m8 has got a female also from an earlier clutch and she does the same.why is this happening as its a pain in the arse as its restricting where i can fly in case there is dog walkers about.
I know some will think its gr8 to have such an aggressive bird but believe me its not always.

Hi Grovesy,

Have these dogs been on leads? A friend of mine had the same problem with his harris the small terrier on the lead I presumed looked similar to the dummy bunny.

Just a thought could it be with the hawk going for the pointer a reaction to try and ward the dog off, like they do in the wild when protecting there territory and dive bombing people?

I try to stay away from dogs not always possible but if I ever see one out hunting I always try to call my bird back to the fist just in case.
