My Saker Falcon's egg # 1-2-3 are hatched out perfectly and now egg # 4 is pipping at the moment.Eggs #1-2-3 were incubated full lenght in Rcompro20. Egg #4 in an brinsea Octagon20. Chick #1 has been hand raised for 4 days and has "born again" using a fiber glass cast of goose egg under the female this morning with no problem at all. The male waited for a long hour before showing up with a piece of quail to be served. I was watching all the time to make sure everything was going well...and it did :supz:

ok...my mistake:oops:. I went and re-read the post:rolleyes:... the only dif between 1-2-3- and #4 was the incubator... not the "back to mamma" ! I understood that 1-2-3 were back in chanmber but didn't know where was #4
Read too quick that's all.

The first chick back is the one with the concerns, after I could choose to merely put the rest of the clutch all at once.

Dan I have always found Sakers to be excellent parents and I have always put the whole clutch back in one go but in your case this is not an option.
Best of luck with the rest of the breeding season

Just wanted to play safe as this pair is not a trusted experienced pair. I now have the two other for a total of four young Sakers. Two are with parents now and the two others will be introduced in a couple days.
Terry my breeding project is only starting off since 6 years so I have to be careful and learn by myself step by step as I do not have other reference sources than you guys :supz: to rely on ...and books sometimes for what it's worth...
No, breeding raptors is not an easy task...at least from what I know
Cheers,
