No kidding!!! I'll be tripping over them in a few weeks. I wonder if Whitey made it through the summer without having to go to McMitchells for an order of Mcquail takeout.

Brad,
While you are at it can you send a few to Ky as we seldom see them that far south? The one in the tree would be nice.

David,
I think he's sporting a new suit by now. That was last winter. So far I've only seen one gos which was cruising across the road when I was going hawking. That's it so far. Here's a better picture of him

I just saw this Bill<G> I have somewhat of a captive audience with these wild gosses. So in the house, grab the camera and snap away until I've fed the bird. So far there have been no gosses showing up this year. I've only seen one! They probably aren't stressed enough to go visit McMitchell's.

They must have all turned east.....I can't take my RT in the woods without seeing at least one...we're loaded in the ******s....and why is it always a big adult female that shows up.....grrrrrr.

I haven't seen any yet here. Usually my wife's cockatiel starts squawking when an accipiter shows up. My buddy JerBear hasn't called either, he is always catching at least one a day in his traps and sometimes 3 different gos's in one day. We live within a natural flyway and some years it's amazing how many show up. The birds from up north are generally really tame when trapped and there are many beautiful honey-colored birds. But I've got my imprint now, quit dreaming.....

Nothing. Some years I see, on the average, 5 a day. Usually there is something camped out in the yard daring the pigeons to come out.

Has there been a population crash up north? Or maybe the mild winter hasn't really forced any mass movement south?

The hare cycle is up in a big way over east...not sure but might be high in central canada as well.....so maybe they ain't in any hurry to leave the MacDonalds they have up north...
BTw nice shot of the flapping gos...
