They look amazing little falcons, super quick , and very agile , i watched an adult hobby chase a lark while driving across farmland, it stooped at it and put it into a fenceline, they might eat the odd insect but this bird ment buisness, it was september time so probably on its way out, but what a sight to see, mark.

We we're packing up to go home one day and as I turned I saw a juvenile Hobby come tanking over the tree line right at me, it flew over the benches in the demo arena and grabbed a dragonfly with one outstretched foot about six feet in front of me and then disappeared over the marquee. It was as if I wasnt there. - A day I will never forget !!

Another one.

I was out with a friend close to small wood near the fields. The pair of Hobbys was above us, hovering in aggressive mode. They was about 200 meters above us. In one moment the male just close his wings, and make incredible bottle stoop to a small bird on the field, he stoop very close to us. We saw the whole attack and a little bit tail chase, because the stoop was not success. He missed, but this scene will be remembered forever.

But what is the situation with the hybrid?

Instead of thinking about Hobby hybrids,
How about you do something decent with a pure one first

Falconry has nothing to offer the Hobby if it entered a conservation crisis

How many breeders out there!

I would love to see Falconry A: regulated
But also B you had to do something in return

Like put up Owl boxes & do nest watches,

Or you HAD to breed one redlist species as part of a conservation co-op

Now whos guna ban your sport then!! lol
I think it would be great, because then you would be classed a enviro pro
rather than as the sceptics see it now..

Anyway..
Great Video footage.. take a butchers

Alf

We really are still so far from any real standard, when you see flights like that
We need to raise the bar from Ferreted Rabbits lol

Yep I would be a happy man seeing flights like that even if the season was short.
What’s a rabbit? :yawinkle: Alf.
