In Englant you can pick up a male for as little as £100 and a female for £250

I wouldn't buy an over-priced one either.

I agree Shaun, the average down here is anything from £100 upwards.

If a person gets to know the breeder, you will see the quality of the birds; if not to your expectations go somewhere else.

I think you need to see the birds fly to judge if they are quality or not. Its not always in the looks now is it. No breeder will tell you they are poor quality will they

Dude, did you not find anyone from the link I gave you above?

I have seen sakers that are fast (for a saker) and some that fly like butterflies, no matter how long you fly them or what you do. I didn't nitice you were not from uk, sorry. so where you live then?

Dude

I live in Hungary, and my friend who want a saker also :) Austria, Germany, Czech rep. is the closest to buy a saker. The breeder must be in the EU becouse then no papers needed to transportation, but he said he will buy it in the UK if thats the better option.

Sakers are well under rated tho In England, my 4 year will take the same as any falcon and is a very fast little thing i found that out when turned my back abd then it was sat on my sholder he thinks hes a HH am sure.

Jon,
I don't know anyone flying a pure saker as a game hawk in this country, that must tell you something. I'm sure that they been tried by some of the best falconers and found to be lacking or else they'd be using them. Maybe in their native enviroment they are suitable but the Uk is a little bit different with regards to conditions and prey.

Gotta say i do love the look of them but they have never rocked my boat as a flying bird. They do seem to be the latest thing at the mo for sure but i dont really understand why.

That's what I dislike in falconry, the wrong hawk/falcon for the quarry or land available but because it cheap it then becomes the option.

You wait til he's up on the thermals 2-5000 feet up soaring about; totally awesome and breath taking when he folds his wings into a virtical stoop.
My female has only recently started doing it and a sight it is.

Jon
