Weyhey, you supplied the answer before I had time to ask the question! Next question - how much inc. delivery?

We obviously do not know your design that you have used but have you seen what Outflying used and found it to be better than traditional ones?

The dog bed?

Yes, I say this because you know how some folks are they would rather have a purpose make tank rather than a dog bed.

Which I personally can see if it is clear and has a place to easily usher in a young bird would be better;)

Works for me Mike, and will be used again - cleaner gos, easier to move, fits in the front of the van, easier to get the gos in and out of.

Maybe market them as imprint beds and put a gos sticker on them

I have a tiercel NA Gos coming in 3 weeks and I followed Jim's thread of Flynn last year very closely. I have a dog bed imprint "tank" in my gear room waiting for its new owner to arrive. Can't wait to see the results.

LOL, touche' my friend...as long as he kills I don't care if he "meows"

Thank you, I'll need the well wishes as this will be my 1st attempt and I'm sure I'll be scratching my head on a failry frquesnt basis but we'll push on and make something of him for sure.

I also look forward to following your new imprint thread as well, hopefully you might even be a week or 2 ahead of me so as to provide a bit of insight and cushion as I go, grin.

Regards,

Dang, it appears I'll be a week or two ahead of you but I pick might up at 14-ish days old. How old will yours be when you pick it up?

What is the best design for an imprint tank what must it include. If anyone has picture's of what they have used in the past or are using now that would be a great help.

Hello Carl,
I moved away from conventional imprint tanks due to one major failing - it keeps all the mutes inside the tank, yes it keeps your house clean but on a downside your hawk dirty.

If you could design a base than drains the mutes off the side walls before they slide down the sides into the nesting material - you'd be on a winner.

Jim.
A friend puts a large but shallow flower pot inside the tank (which is also larger than most), the flower pot is filled with twigs and the chick stays in it. When the goss mutes it hits the side of the tank and goes away from where the goss is in its nest. Quite hard to explain but the other benifit is its easy to get the chick into the flower pot and lift into the tank.
This is how I will do it this year as it worked very well with a nice clean chick and house best of both

Designing one that is along the same kind of design as the dog bed. Will get a picture on as soon as its done. But at the moment we are making and have 2 in stock of the standard imprint cylinder.

same as me.i use 5 pieces of perspex taped together with duck tape about 3 foot by 2 foot.
i put a nest in a big round plastic dish the type you put big flower pots in.
then all round the nest in the tank i put some cat litter made out of wood.the stuff thats made in to little pellets
that keeps it clean.
and when you want to take your bird out and about with you just take the nest out.
